SANTA CLARITA - A Fontana man has pleaded no contest to a felony count of driving under the influence of alcohol in connection with a collision last March that injured a woman, a Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office spokeswoman said Tuesday.

Tyler Brown, a 23-year-old personal trainer, was sentenced to 180 days in Los Angeles County jail after entering his plea in San Fernando Superior Court Aug. 29 to one felony count of driving with a .08 percent blood alcohol causing injury, said Shiara Dávila-Morales.

Brown will also serve three years’ probation, Dávila-Morales said.

He was arrested March 10 after his vehicle and one driven by a 19-year-old woman collided on Highway 14 near Golden Valley Road, county fire officials said.

Brown’s SUV rolled over and the other vehicle, a Ford Mustang, was on its side when firefighters arrived about 5:30 a.m. on March 10. The woman in the Mustang was taken to the hospital, but investigators did not reveal her name so the hospital declined to release her condition.

Brown was treated for minor injuries at Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital before his arrest.
