New England Patriots running back Shane Vereen runs against Buffalo on Sunday.

After his first 100-yard rushing day in the NFL, Shane Vereen will now likely be out a couple of weeks, according to Fox Sports’ Jay Glazer.

Glazer is reporting that the Valencia High graduate and New England Patriots running back broke a small bone in his wrist on the first play of the game Sunday and he’s scheduled for surgery today.

The injury will keep him out “a couple of weeks.”

Vereen was the only NFL running back to rush for over 100 yards thus far in week one.

The third-year back also caught seven passes for 58 yards.
