Buyers snatching up new homes

Villa Metro sells 17 within two weeks of opening

Villa Metro, a new community in Santa Clarita built by The New Home Company announced it has sold 17 new homes within only two weeks of its grand opening Aug. 17.

Models are selling across the board, said a spokesman for the Orange County-based company.

“Of the 17 released and sold to date — six were released and sold at Aqua; five were released and sold at Terra and six were released and sold at Sol,” he said.

As a result of the fast sales start, the builder is releasing 17 more homes for sale this weekend.

“They’re expected to sell equally as fast,” said the spokesman.

A fourth model — 22 live-work loft units — is expected to come online in October.

Construction spending in the United States during July was estimated to be $900.8 billion, seasonally adjusted — up 5.2 percent over July 2012, according to the U.S. Department of Commerce.

Residential building accounted for a 16.8 percent jump over 2012.

Seasonally adjusted, residential building was estimated at $340,608 billion in July, with private industry accounting for the vast majority of building.

Located on Soledad Canyon Road across from the Metrolink Station, the Villa Metro homes are built into village blocks giving the community more of a European feel.

The neighborhood comes with a community vegetable garden and a recreation center with pool and gym.
