SANTA CLARITA — A man suspected of driving a car from which a woman fell and was killed on a Southern California freeway has surrendered to police.

Ricardo Jimenez, 26, turned himself in Saturday after learning he was wanted for questioning.

Authorities were searching for him after 22-year-old Maria Josefina Jimenez jumped, fell or was pushed from the passenger side of a Toyota early Thursday onto the eastbound lanes of the 210 Freeway. She was killed by oncoming traffic.

The two are not related but Los Angeles police believed Jimenez was having an affair with the married woman.

Police say witnesses saw the pair at a local tattoo parlor before midnight and that Ricardo Jimenez berated her in front of others.
