Highway 14 in the Santa Clarita Valley has fully reopened following a crash this afternoon that closed three lanes of southbound Highway 14 near Newhall Avenue, according to an officer with the California Highway Patrol.

CHP Officer Tatiana Sauquillo said that closure went into effect at around 3:30 p.m. and was lifted at 4:43 p.m.

Sauquillo said the crash that led to the closure occurred at around 3:13 p.m. and involved multiple cars.

One of those cars reportedly spun around and hit the center divider, coming to a rest facing the wrong way on the freeway, Sauquillo said.

When CHP officers and officials from the Los Angeles County Fire Department got on scene they found one person was unresponsive, according to Sauquillo.

The person received CPR and was transported to the hospital, Sauquillo said. The person’s condition is unknown at this time, Sauquillo said.

As of Saturday evening it appears a second person was transported to the hospital, Sauquillo said. The extent of any injuries suffered in the crash is not known at this time.
