SCV to see slight chance of showers today

Temperatures to rise toward 103 by Friday

SANTA CLARITA - Santa Clarita Valley residents will se a 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms today as a hot and humid weather system persists over the valley.

The National Weather Service has issued a hazardous weather outlook for the valley, along with most other regions in the Los Angeles and Ventura areas, for possible showers today. A flash flood watch was in effect for Los Angeles and Ventura counties tonight.

A slight chance of thunderstorms was expected to continue over the mountains and Antelope Valley from Wednesday through Monday during the afternoon and evening hours.

Temperatures in the Santa Clarita Valley are forecast to rise during the rest of the week, with highs reaching 97 today, 100 on Wednesday, 101 on Thursday and 103 on Friday.
