One of the biggest attractions of a visit to Dodger Stadium is chowing down on a Dodger Dog...or three.

It's Opening Day for the 2009 Major League Baseball season, and Santa Clarita Valley fans are warming up for the 32nd Annual SCV Dodgers Day salute on Sunday, April 19.

The boys in blue will face off against the Colorado Rockies, with on-the-field ceremonies saluting the SCV preceding the game.

Pre-game festivities start at 1:00 p.m. and the game's first pitch will be thrown at 1:10 p.m.

Baseball fans may purchase SCV Dodgers Day tickets at the Summerhill Lane branch of WaMu, the Santa Clarita Aquatics Center, Canyon Country Little League, radio station KHTS, and online at using the promo code SCV.

By purchasing SCV Dodgers Day tickets through those outlets, fans can save up to $50 a ticket. A portion of the proceeds will benefit participating SCV schools and non-profit groups.

Baseline field tickets are $75 each, field level seats run $35 apiece, infield reserve cost $25 each and all-you-can-eat right pavilion field tickets are up for grabs at $30 per.

The deadline to purchase tickets is Friday, April 10 at 5:00 p.m. or when tickets are sold out. Tickets are being sold on a first-come, first-served basis, and quantities are limited. Organizers expect the game to sell out fast.

The SCV Dodgers Day Committee also accepted entries for local vocalists to sing the National Anthem at this year's event.

Singers had to submit their entries to City Hall no later than 5:00 p.m. Friday.

Auditions are being forwarded to the Dodgers, who will make the final decision and will only notify the winner.
