Signal’s headline wrongly sensationalized

I realize the person writing the news story does not usually write the headlines for their story. However, on Aug. 10, Luke Money wrote an article about kids posting a picture of the cover of their Star Test booklets, but the headline read “Students post test answers” (A1).

Nowhere in the story did he mention that they posted the answers.

Should they have had their phones on? Of course not, but for you to try to sensationalize what they did was worse.

You have branded them cheaters and the investigation so far shows no cheating — only bad judgment in showing the cover of the booklet.

Whoever edits the headlines should know better and be ashamed of themselves.

Editor’s note: The headline to the story was incorrect. The Signal published a correction the next day, and we apologize again for the error.
