Attorney Hunt C. Braly has become Poole & Shaffery’s newest partner, the law firm announced Tuesday at the Valley Industry Association’s monthly membership luncheon.

Braly’s experience with land use and government affairs will be the firm’s newest practice area, said John Shaffery, managing partner for Poole & Shaffery.

“He brings a wealth of knowledge, advocacy experience, and strong relationships with local and state agencies and governments that Poole & Shaffery has been seeking as part of its long-range strategic plan to expand the firm’s services,” the law firm said in a press release.

Poole & Shaffery seeks to be a full-service law firm for the business interests here in Santa Clarita and everywhere the firm is active, said David Poole, co-founder of the firm.

“While we’ve handled a lot of real estate related business, Braly does a lot of land use and interaction with local governments and that will be attractive to some of our larger institutional clients but, also for the mid-size and smaller businesses that need these kinds of services,” Poole said.

Braly has practiced law in California since 1993 and he is a registered lobbyist in Los Angeles County, the city of Santa Clarita and Sacramento.

His achievements include passage of legislation creating the Santa Clarita Woodlands Park, assisting in the drafting of the voter-approved Victims Bill of Rights Initiative, and legislation protecting police officers from exposure to disease-infected criminals, said a spokesman for the firm.

Braly has also advocated on behalf of a wide range of clients on local, county and state levels.

Founded in 1998, Poole & Shaffery has offices in Santa Clarita, Los Angeles, Orange County, Walnut Creek and San Francisco.
