SANTA CLARITA - The drivers of both vehicles were injured Monday when a city bus and an SUV collided at the intersection of Avenues Stanford and Scott in the Valencia Industrial Center.

Both the bus driver and the driver of a Toyota Venza were taken to a local hospital shortly after the collision at 9:45 a.m., said Los Angeles County Fire Department Capt. Paul Hartwell of Fire Station 156.

The handful of passengers on the bus were not injured, he said.

Paramedics attended to the bus driver on the bus and fitted him with a neck brace before placing him on a backboard. He and the driver of the white four-door Toyota Venza both suffered minor injuries, said Hartwell.

Deputy Tom Drake said the Venza was apparently traveling eastbound on Avenue Stanford and the bus was heading northbound on Avenue Scott when the two collided. An investigation into the crash was continuing.
