Saugus girls soccer is set to face Buchanan High of Clovis on Tuesday at 5 p.m. in the first round of the CIF Southern California Regional Division I Championships at Buchanan High just outside of Fresno.

The announcement was made on the CIF's state Web site Sunday.

The draw puts the Centurions in the tournament as a six-seed.

"It's actually kind of disturbing that we got the six-seed," said Saugus head coach Lisa Rollo. "We were expecting a little better that six."

Since the location will be determined by the higher seed throughout the tournament, the Centurions likely face road games the rest of the way.

Having traveled to Redlands this past Tuesday and Warren High in Downey on Friday, the frustration with another potential string of road trips was evident in Rollo's voice, especially when thinking about telling her team.

"They'll be disappointed," Rollo said. "They are going to have questions to which I don't have answers. Once again we are going to have to prove people wrong."

The Bears won their fourth straight CIF-Central Section Division title with a 5-1 win over Stockdale on Saturday after finishing second in the Tri-River conference behind Clovis High.

Still, Rollo admits confusion that her team's performance had not garnered more respect after two wins over Flintridge-Sacred Heart, playoff wins over Crescenta Valley and Harvard-Westlake, a 20-3-3 record, a Buena Tournament championship and a Southern Section Division I title.

The possibility lingers that Saugus' third-place finish in the Foothill League could still be haunting it with the CIF's seeding decision.

According to Rollo, the team is currently scheduled to leave at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday for the match.

"Disappointing is pretty much the word that is overwhelming my heart," Rollo added. "The girls are going to have to shake it off and accept it."
