For Mr. Donnelly, in answer to your questions:

1. "What if there was no Santa Clarita and therefore no sewage?" Answer: No salt pollution problem.

Same answer for question 2. "What if there were no 300 years of carbon-dioxide-producing industrialization?" No global warming.

No amount of wishful thinking negates the fact of salt in our water and 400 ppm of CO2 in the air.

For Ms. Kelley, you suggest Santa Clarita send its salty water upstream to catch basins.

Such a pump — or pumps — would require a tremendous amount of power to enable it to force water to defy gravity.

Ms. Kelley, where do you propose we obtain the power for such a purpose?
