Two men have been arrested for allegedly assaulting a man and stealing his car in Canyon Country early Saturday morning, according to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

The incident occurred at around 12:50 a.m. when a 56-year-old Canyon County resident was reportedly approached by three young men after parking his car on the 17600 block of Jakes Way in Canyon Country.

The three men, all reported to be between 17 and 19 years old, allegedly asked the man for his keys to his car, a 2009 Lincoln MKX.

The 56-year-old man refused, at which point the three young men allegedly began to assault him.

The three young men got hold of the victim’s car keys after he threw them away, took the car and fled the scene, according to the Sheriff’s Station.

Approximately 90 minutes later, officers from the Hollywood Station of the Los Angeles Police Department attempted to conduct a traffic stop on the Lincoln.

The vehicle eventually stopped and several men fled from it, according to officials. Two of the three suspects were apprehended shortly thereafter.

The two men will be transferred to the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station. Their names are unknown at this time.
