A 14-year-old Santa Clarita Valley girl who went missing earlier this week was found Friday evening, according to an official with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Lt. John Rush with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station said the girl, Rachel Sarah Hargrove, was found around 7 p.m. near a grocery store on Orchard Village Road.

Rush also said she did not appear to be injured when she was found.

Hargrove’s father reported her missing early Thursday morning, according to Deputy Josh Dubin, after she did not return home Wednesday.

The matter was investigated by detectives with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station COBRA team, which handles missing juvenile cases.

Hargrove’s family staged a concerted social media campaign to aid in the search for her.
