The city of Santa Clarita will begin construction Monday to refurbish and repair concrete on Soledad Canyon Road in Canyon Country.

The construction, expected to last until Aug. 13, will take place between Honby Avenue and Soledad Street.
Some lanes of traffic will be closed during construction hours, according to city officials.

The intersection of Honby and Soledad will be closed during the duration of construction, and westbound traffic on Soledad will be detoured down Furnivall Avenue for access into the nearby community.

Eastbound traffic on Soledad Canyon Road will have to turn left at Furnivall Avenue or make a U-turn at the turn pocket that leads into the Parklane Mobile Estates park.

Those living on the closed portion of Honby Avenue will have access to their homes by way of Soledad Street.
All detours will be signed, according to the city.

The construction is part of the city’s annual concrete rehabilitation program, which includes sidewalk repair, building new access ramps and rehabbing curbs and gutters to improve drainage flow into storm drains.
