For the fourth summer in a row, West Ranch volleyball player Haley Lind competed for a high-level USA Volleyball team.

This year, the University of Virginia commit competed for a USA High Performance Women’s International Junior team in a tournament played in Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.

Lind, a 17-year-old who will be a senior this fall at West Ranch, was the libero for Team USA Youth A1 White, which finished ninth place among 14 teams in the competition.

The teams included in the tournament came from Canada, New Zealand and various regions within the U.S.
In the past, Lind has made USA Girls’ Select A1 teams two summers in a row when she was 14 and 15 years old. She followed that by making a High Performance Girls’ Youth National team last year.

High Performance teams are set up by USA Volleyball as a feeders to the national team that represents the U.S. in international competitions, including the Olympics.

Lind has been playing libero for West Ranch since her freshman year, and comes into her senior year as the likely starter.
