After previously announcing Brian Ingino would take over the girls volleyball program at Canyon High School, the school announced its new boys volleyball head coach this week.

In place of the departed Brandon Johnson, the school announced the hiring of Jeff Cody, former head boys volleyball coach at Golden Valley High School.

“Jeff brings to Canyon a wealth of volleyball experience that he had gained from playing at El Toro High School, coaching lower levels at Canyon and learning from one of the best in the business in Walk Ker at Legacy,” Canyon Assistant Principal Jason d’Autremont said in a release.

Cody will have his work cut out for him after a difficult season for the Cowboys in 2013.

Canyon went 10-14 over and 2-8 in Foothill League play, good for a fifth place finish.

“(Cody) would like to put Canyon back on the map as far as boys volleyball goes,” d’Autremont said.
