The westbound lane on Quail Lake Road will be closed today after a cement truck hit a utility pole at 8:30 this morning near the Highway 138 off-ramp, officials with the California Highway Patrol said.

“There is a cement truck on its side and a pole across the roadway,” said CHP Sgt. John Lutz.

There were no reports of injuries.

The westbound lane of Quail Lake Road was expected to remain closed until 5 p.m. today.

CHP officers reported that the damaged utility pole was “unsteady” but that no wires were on the ground, according to reports from CHP officers at the scene.

Workers with Southern California Edison were repairing the damage shortly after the crash, said Edison spokeswoman Anna Frutos-Sanchez.

“One of the transmission poles was hit and it locked out of a circuit,” she said, adding that it caused a brief power outage.

At 10:30 a.m., three people in the area were reported to be without electricity, she said.
