Hart graduate Steve Susdorf recorded his first Major League career hit on Sunday for the Philadelphia Phillies.

Susdorf led off the fifth inning with a double to deep right field off Detroit Tigers pitcher Rick Porcello. Susdorf later scored in the inning on a Darin Ruf single, but the Tigers eventually won the game 12-4.

This was Susdorf's third Major League game and his first start after the 27-year-old made his MLB debut on Thursday when the Phillies called him up from Triple-A Lehigh Valley.

Sunday, he started in left field and went 1-for-4. He's now 1-for-7 overall with the Phillies.

Susdorf was enjoying a successful season in Triple-A when he was called up. The Hart graduate and former Fresno State player was drafted by the Phillies in the 19th round in 2008 and has been working his way through the minors ever since.
