Four people were injured Saturday afternoon when a car crashed into a house in Canyon County, according to an official with the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station.

Lt. John Rush said the collision took place around 1:47 p.m., when a car reportedly crashed and eventually came to rest inside a room of a house on the 29000 block of Wistaria Valley Road in Canyon Country.

“Looks like one incident where we may have had somebody not paying attention to what they were doing because they were distracted by their cellphone,” Rush said.

The car was a late model Honda sedan, according to reports from the scene.

Rush confirmed four people were transported from the scene to a hospital for treatment and were later released.

One person was tentatively going to be airlifted from the scene but those plans were later canceled, Rush said.

Rush confirmed no charges had been filed against the driver, who could not be identified, as of 9 p.m. Saturday.
