Some time between 10 p.m. July 11 and 4 a.m. July 12, a vandal smashed the windshield of a 38-year-old woman’s 1990 black Nissan parked in front of her home, according to deputies. “The victim stated she was inside her home when she heard the sound of glass breaking in front of her home. She stated when she went outside she saw that the windshield on her vehicle was smashed.” They added: “When the victim looked up the street, she saw a red Toyota Corolla driving north on Winterdale and out of view. Possession of burglary tools
Golden Valley Road,
Robert C Lee Parkway,
Canyon Country
Shortly before 1:30 a.m. Thursday, a patrol deputy stopped a motorist when he “had stopped completely over the limit line at a red light at the intersection of Golden Valley Road and Sierra Highway,” she wrote. When the deputy identified the driver, she realized he had two outstanding warrants — one for theft, the other for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. She arrested the motorist for the warrants and had the car towed. Found inside the car were burglary tools and stolen items including baby formula, tank tops, disposable shaving razors and socks. Deputies also found two bottles of tequila, two bottles of whiskey, a bottle of vodka, an eyebrow shaping set, a mustache/beard trimming set, bandanas and a glass pipe “commonly used to smoke methamphetamine,” the deputy wrote.

Burglary (shoplifting)
McBean Parkway,
At 5:30 p.m. Friday, a loss prevention officer at Macy’s department store who was monitoring surveillance cameras watched a woman enter the store’s sportswear department “selecting clothing items and removing them from their hangers. Once she removed the items from the hanger she would place them into her oversized silver purse, known as a booster bag,” deputies wrote. When deputies questioned the suspect, she told them she was “sick,” which “caused her to steal things,” they wrote. Items stolen included: iPad stand/case green $79; leather handbag blue $149; front tie blouse $30; beaded shirt $36; white blouse $45; T-shirt $90 and a rayon blouse $69.

Attempted Robbery
Soledad Canyon Road, Canyon Country
About 8:30 p.m. Friday, deputies went to Henry Mayo Newhall Memorial Hospital in response to a battery call, they said. They found a man suffering a swollen right eye and a “one- to two-inch” laceration just under his right eye.” The man told them he was crossing the parking lot at Art’s Liquor in Canyon Country when he was confronted by two men. “The suspects told the victim to ‘give me your money.’ He said ‘no.’” The suspects then attacked the victim, punching him in the face several times. The suspects then ran south “deeper into the parking lot” toward the wash until out of view. The suspects did not take any items from the victim, deputies said.
