William S. Hart Union High School District parents and students can enroll in the district's voluntary random drug testing program following the board's decision Wednesday to use MEDTOX laboratories for drug testing.

District officials will continue holding information meetings with parent organizations of the Hart district to encourage enrollment.

The voluntary random drug testing will begin in two weeks.

Students will be tested for 12 drugs, including alcohol, steroids, marijuana and prescription drugs.

Hart's board members approved the voluntary drug testing program in February.
