State Sen. Steve Knight, R-Palmdale, will hold a town hall meeting Thursday to discuss topics ranging from the state budget to water issues facing the Santa Clarita Valley.

The meeting will be held in the council chambers of City Hall, 23920 Valencia Blvd., from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
This is the second town hall meeting Knight has held in the Santa Clarita Valley since he was elected to his term in the state Senate in November.

“Meeting with these residents helps me to understand their concerns and to discuss issues important to our community and California,” Knight said in a news release.

“It is a mutually beneficial event that I enjoy holding throughout my district.”

Knight represents the 21st state Senate district, which includes portions of the Santa Clarita Valley.

On July 30 Assemblyman Scott Wilk, R-Santa Clarita, will hold a meeting in Santa Clarita to discuss the local impacts of the federal Affordable Care Act, also known as Obamacare.

“The Affordable Care Act was passed in 2010 and the United State Supreme Court upheld this new law in 2012,” Wilk said in a news release. “It’s important we know how these new, complicated laws affect families, employers and employees.”

That meeting will be held from 5:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. July 30 at the Santa Clarita Activities Center, 20880 Centre Pointe Parkway, according to Wilk’s office.

Wilk represents the 38th Assembly District, which includes the Santa Clarita Valley.
