Highway 14 pavement rehab project lane closures

LOS ANGELES COUNTY - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close portions of Antelope Valley Freeway SR-14 from Sierra Highway (Soledad Canyon Rd) to Palmdale Boulevard as part of a pavement rehabilitation project. Closures are as follows and subject to change.

Sunday, July 21, through Friday, July 26

Northbound SR-14

8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to three lanes between Soledad Canyon Rd. & Palmdale Boulevard7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – On and Off Ramps CLOSED between Sierra Highway & Avenue S

Southbound SR-14

8 p.m. to 6 a.m. – Up to three lanes between Palmdale Boulevard & Soledad Canyon Rd7 p.m. to 6 a.m. – On and Off Ramps CLOSED between Avenue S & Sierra Highway

Friday, July 26, through Sunday, July 28

Northbound SR-14

7 p.m. to 3 p.m. – Up to three lanes between Soledad Canyon Rd. & Palmdale Boulevard8 p.m. to 3 p.m. – On and Off Ramps CLOSED between Sierra Highway & Avenue S

Southbound SR-14

7 p.m. to 3 p.m. – Up to three lanes between Palmdale Boulevard & Soledad Canyon Rd8 p.m. to 3 p.m. – On and Off Ramps CLOSED between Avenue S & Sierra Highway

Detours will be posted. New pavement will improve mobility and enhance safety for motorists. Security Paving Company Incorporated is the contractor on this $16 million project which is expected to complete summer 2013.

Caltrans advises motorists to “Slow For The Cone Zone.”
