The Babys, the 1970s British rock group best known for the songs “Isn’t It Time” and “Every Time I Think of You,” will perform a special concert to benefit the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry on Thursday at the Canyon Club in Agoura.

“There are still a lot of The Babys fans,” said John Bisaha, the Babys’ new lead vocalist. “We’ve got fans coming from as far away as Australia. People have not forgotten us.”

The Babys, who disbanded in 1981, have re-formed with original band members drummer Tony Brock and guitarist Wally Stocker. New members are vocalist/bassist Bisaha and guitarist JP Cervoni.

Belinda Crawford, executive director of the Santa Clarita Valley Food Pantry, said Marty Keegan, manager of the band and SCV resident, suggested the Food Pantry as concert beneficiary.

The band recently visited the Food Pantry.

“The band members really have a soft heart for children and the homeless,” said Crawford.

Crawford said the SCV Food Pantry serves nearly 6,000 people a year.

“Summer is the time of our greatest need,” she said.

Bisaha said The Babys will perform some of the band’s best-known songs, as well as new music. The group has a new single, “Not Ready To Say Goodbye,” said Bisaha.

In addition to The Babys, other performers at the concert will include Dilana, runner-up in “Rock Star: Supernova,” and Legends of Rock All-Stars: Tim Bogert (Vanilla Fudge), Brian Auguer (Oblivion Express), Scotty Page (saxophonist for Pink Floyd, Supertramp and Toto), Lee Thornburg (Supertramp and Tower of Power), Chas West (frontman for such bands as Tribe of Gypsies, Jason Bonham Band, Lynch Mob and Foreigner), Alan Krieger (guitarist for The Doors), Ron Whitaker (Guns and Roses, Def Leopard, and Quiet Riot) and others.

The concert is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. with doors opening at 6 p.m.

A limited number of free tickets are available to the concert and will be awarded to guests who visit the SCV Food Pantry page on Facebook.
