School board lawsuits

Regarding The Signal’s Saturday article by Luke Money on the subject of lawsuits filed against the Sulphur Springs School District and COC ("More voting lawsuits"): Many labor under the belief that these actions are locally motivated. Nothing could be further from the truth.

"Follow the money" is the advice they should be taking instead.

The lawsuits promulgated by these two law firms have traversed California for the last several years.

Look for the boot prints of phony suits with "put-up" plaintiffs and you will see the piles of taxpayer cash that have been filling their coffers.

If you honestly think they care that the Latino voters are properly represented, you guessed wrong.

Many school districts and municipalities have complied and/or have tried to comply with the 2001 California Voting Rights Act and still had to defend themselves (see taxpayers), costing hundreds of thousands, and yes, millions of dollars.

These are tax dollars for the running of our cities and the teaching of our children going into the pockets of opportunistic law firms and collaborating plaintiffs.

They are not interested in a "fair" vote for any Californian, but are very interested in a big paycheck.

Stop bickering with each other.

Wise up, wake up and get involved. It is our money they are after.

It is easy to spot the ambulance-chasing attorney when his car is tight against the ambulance bumper. It is harder when they drive expensive cars and wear designer suits, but "a rose by any other name" is still an ambulance chaser.
