SAN DIEGO (AP) — Former political allies of San Diego's mayor are expected to talk further about the allegations of sexual harassment they have lodged against him.

Former Councilwoman Donna Frye and two lawyers have scheduled a news conference Monday.

San Diego's first Democratic mayor in 20 years is desperately trying to hold on to his office amid sexual harassment allegations made by Frye and some of his other closest supporters.

Frye announced last week that she received "credible evidence" that Filner harassed more than one woman and called for his resignation.

Filner has apologized and promised to seek help.

Frye worked briefly for the mayor as his director of open government. She didn't provide any specifics of the alleged abuse but says she has no doubt the allegations are true.
