Canyon Country East Crime Report: deputies investigate "hot prowl" burglary

This week in Canyon Country-East we had 12 Part-1 crimes. Of those reported crimes, there were 3 burglaries, 8 larcenies, and 1 stolen vehicle.

A hot prowl burglary occurred from the 24900 block of Solamint Road. The victim’s cellphone, Ipad and cameras were stolen while the victim was taking a shower. Entrance was made through the unlocked front door. A residential burglary occurred from the 17800 block of Ness Drive. The victim’s purse was stolen from her bedroom. A garage burglary occurred from the 27300 block of Palo Verde Place. The locking mechanism to the garage was damaged. Tools and personal items were stolen.

A grand theft occurred from the 27500 block of Sierra Highway. The victim believes his ex-girlfriend stole his jewelry and US currency. A grand theft occurred from the 18300 block of Soledad Canyon Road. Unknown suspects stole copper wire from SoCal Edison. A petty theft occurred from the 19100 block of Golden Valley Rd. While the victim was eating at the location, her wallet was stolen from her purse. A petty theft occurred from the 16800 block of Shinedale Drive. Numerous plants were stolen from the victim’s rear yard. A petty theft occurred from Solamint Road and Dolan Way. The victim’s driver’s side mirror was stolen from his vehicle. A petty theft occurred from the 18000 block of Grace Lane. The victim’s ex-boyfriend stole her checks and cashed them at a check cashing location. A theft from unlocked vehicle occurred from the 8200 block of Jakes Way. The victim’s purse was stolen from the floorboard of her vehicle.

A vehicle burglary occurred from the 15600 block of Bronco Drive. The victim’s laptop, GPS and other electronics were stolen from her vehicle. Entrance was made by smashing the window.

A 2008 motorcycle was stolen from the 18000 block of Soledad Canyon Rd.

Continue to lock your windows, garage doors and make sure to also lock your vehicles.

Make sure to always park in well-lit areas and be cognizant of your surroundings. If you see any suspicious activity either close to your home or while you are out shopping, call the Sheriff’s station at (661) 255-1121 or 9-1-1 in an emergency.
