Sheriff's deputies are investigating what may have been a case of senior-on-senior crime Tuesday in Canyon Country.

A 74-year-old woman said that about 12:30 p.m. she was accosted by a man and woman, both in their 60s, near the KFC at the corner of Whites Canyon and Soledad Canyon roads, sheriff's Lt. Tom Bryski said.

He said the victim - who waited until almost 1:30 p.m. to call deputies - said the couple took $900 in cash from her, as well as jewelry, before fleeing in an older model gray van.

The alleged thieves did not brandish any weapons, Bryski said, and the woman was not injured.

The alleged bandits were described as a Hispanic man of about 65 years old and a Hispanic woman of about 60 years old.

No further descriptions were available.

Anyone with more information can call the Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff's Station at (661) 255-1121.
