William S. Hart Park hosts its second “Movies at the Park” tonight with the showing of “Ice Age 3” on its giant blow-up screen for family enjoyment free of charge.

Music and a vegetarian food truck will be featured before the show begins, offering “fruits and vegetables before the carnivores,” joked Ranger Frank Hoffman. The film starts at dark.

Moviegoers are urged to bring blankets, pillows, lawn chairs and soft drinks to enjoy the dinosaur film with their families.

This is the first year Hart Park has hosted the program showing family-rated movies on a 24-by-40-foot inflatable screen on the park grounds. The park board bought the screen, projector and sound system that makes possible the summertime every-other-Friday programs, Hoffman said.

“It’s our gift to the community on behalf of the county,” he said.

Two weeks ago the program launched with the showing of “Madagascar 3,” drawing 68 viewers.
