MENIFEE, Calif. (AP) — Authorities say they've found possible human remains at the Southern California home of an 11-year-old autistic boy who vanished over the weekend.

Riverside County sheriff's Deputy Albert Martinez says investigators served a search warrant before dawn Wednesday at the Menifee home of Terry Dewayne Smith Jr.

He says investigators dug up some remains but they haven't determined whether they're human.

Martinez also says investigators never ruled out foul play in the boy's disappearance.

Hundreds of volunteers have searched dozens of square miles around the home in recent days and some said they weren't abandoning the hunt.
