Two new account representatives, both local residents, joined The Signal this week to help Santa Clarita advertisers meet their business needs with the many multimedia options offered by the newspaper.

Brandon Gonsalves, a lifelong resident, has worked in the fields of marketing, publicity and promotions in Burbank for major film studios such as Warner Bros, Focus Features and NBC.

Gonsalves, who attended grades K through 12 at local schools, said the newspaper was a staple of his childhood.

“I’m proud to be back to my roots in Santa Clarita working for the newspaper I grew up reading as a kid,” Gonsalves said.

Also joining The Signal is Newhall resident Lorena Ross-Zavala.

Pursuing her dream after school, Ross-Zavala became a Private Investigator after attending Nick Harris Detective Academy.

With a focus on insurance fraud, she worked as a private investigator for seven years before making a career change after the birth of her daughter, she said.

With advertising sales experience tucked in her belt, working for Valpak Cox Target Media and El Clasificado Spanish classifieds, Ross-Zavala said she lives in Newhall with her husband, two children and two Chihuahuas.

“I love making the client’s dreams come true by helping them grow their businesses,” she said.

“I’m happy to have Brandon and Lorena join our team,” said Andrew Loughlin, advertising sales executive manager for The Signal. “They each have diverse backgrounds and bring experience we believe will help our advertisers.”

The Signal looks for account representatives who have varied backgrounds because it no longer just sells advertising, he said.

“At Signal Multimedia, we no longer just sell advertising but rather, we offer media solutions that encompass many platforms,” Loughlin said. “There is no other media option in Santa Clarita that engages as many consumers as Signal Multimedia.”
