The Prayer Angels for the Military float won the Sweepstakes trophy at this year's Santa Clarita Valley Fourth of July parade in Newhall.

There was creativity combined with respect for service in the Sweepstakes-winning float in Thursday’s Santa Clarita Valley Fourth of July Parade.

The float entered by Prayer Angels for the Military called for parade-goers to stand in honor of America’s service men and women who have given their all as the re-enactment of the raising of the flag on Iwo Jima passed by them.

Spectators did so for the procession.
