Just enough rain fell out of foreboding skies over the Santa Clarita Valley Monday to keep temperatures cool and comfortable but ruining outdoor activities.

"It looks like amounts have been less than 0.05 (inches)," National Weather Service specialist Stuart Seto said late Monday afternoon.

Manager Hamilton Rodriguez was surprised the Valencia Car Wash saw more business on a drizzling day than the previous few sunny days.

"Some people came in to have their interior cleaned," he said. But there were six customers who drove away in the drizzle with a clean car Monday afternoon, he said.

As of late afternoon, California Highway Patrol reported less than 10 collisions since 6 a.m.

Highway Patrol Sgt. Matthew Hill had not heard of any major injuries in the afternoon.

Santa Clarita Valley should get "another little shot of moisture Tuesday night into Wednesday," Seto said. Today will be partly cloudy, with a 30 percent chance of rain tonight, lasting through Thursday, he said.
