Why doesn't Alaska secede from the union and start its own government of scoundrels and worthless people?

Have all the tax evaders, scheme artists, favor-takers, favor-givers, Wall Street executives, automobile executives, oil magnates, etc. unite in Alaska with Sarah Palin, Joe the Plumber (Joe Wurzelbacher), Rod Blagojevich, Bernard Madoff and Rush Limbaugh, to name a few of the reprehensible people utterly lacking in principle).

Their destructive actions, morals and principles of right and wrong are shameless.
