Girls Soccer

Hart 5, Orange Lutheran 2

The Indians (4-1) won their third Aliso Cup game with goals from three different players. Taylor Moorehead scored two unassisted goals, while Brooke Rickard had two of her own with assists from Tori Waldeck and Isabela Penaranda. Izabel Reyes also had a goal, with an assist from Caitlin Piper.

Hart finished first in its tournament pool and will continue Aliso Cup play on Saturday against Niguel High School as they begin the championship round.

Saugus 2, Calabasas 1

The Cents’ Kathleen Volpei scored the first goal of a home win 10 minutes into play, but Calabasas scored 10 minutes later to tie the game heading into halftime.

Gina D’Onosrio scored off of a throw-in with a shot from about 18 yards out to win the game for Saugus.

The Cents improve to 2-1 on the season with the victory.

Valencia 2, Santa Paula 0

The Vikings are now 2-1 after defeating Santa Paula on the road.

Kayla Kukaua and Autumn Moore both scored for Valencia.

Varsity girls basketball

SCCS 48, Desert Christian 34

Santa Clarita Christian improved its record to 4-0 after a win over Desert Christian.

Payton Schwesinger led the Cards with 26 points.

Canyon 53, Thousand Oaks 41

Rachel Bowers led Canyon with 16 points and eight rebounds in a game that served as part of Burroughs’ tournament. Daisy Cardenas added eight points.

Varsity boys basketball

SCCS 62, Desert Christian 44

The Cardinals remain undefeated at 4-0, winning on the road against Desert Christian.

Trinity 63, Moorpark 54

Caden Kulp led Trinity (1-4) with 14 points on Thursday night in Moorpark’s tournament. Ryan DeMarois added 10 points, four assists and four rebounds.

Golden Valley 80, Chaminade 79, OT

Richard Kawakami had 30 points to lead Golden Valley (2-2), and Milan Taylor had 20 rebounds, nine points and nine assists.

Saugus 83, Crescenta Valley 73

The Cents took third place in the Heritage Christian Tournament. Zach Phipps scored 28 points and was selected to the all-tournament team. Anthony McIntyre had 20 points and Micah Tobon scored 13.
