Fire crews respond to brush fire north of SCV

Firefighting aircrafts seen flying over the SCV Sunday morning were responding to a five-acre brush fire in the Pine Canyon area of the Angeles National Forest, about 30 miles north of Santa Clarita.

“It’s two acres of grass,” officials with the Los Angeles County Fire Department said.

The fire was initially reported near Pine Canyon Road at 9:22 a.m. and forward progression of the flames had been stopped as of 11 a.m.

Two super scoopers, three helicopters and one helitanker responded to fight the blaze.

County Fire and Angeles National Forest crews responded to the incident.

No structures were threatened.
